The Townsville Bulletin reported that a man pleaded guilty to two DVO breaches after sending “a stream of messages” to his former partner.
The Bulletin chose to erase the man from the headline and focus instead on blaming his victim for his choice to breach the DVO.
Victim blaming used to be widespread in media reporting of men’s violence against women. Thankfully, it’s not standard anymore, but it’s not completely gone yet either.
