The Toowoomba Chronicle reported that a 33 year old taxi driver has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting two different women.

He is not the victim, despite impression given by the headline saying he was “hit with” the charges.

The string of fixes directed at the rural QLD press is often about invisible perpetrators, this doesn’t mean the problem is solved by putting the alleged perpetrator into the headline with a sympathetic twist and removing the victims from the story.

This is journalism 101. Use the active voice and make the headline a summary of the article. It really shouldn’t be this difficult.
