The Morning Bulletin reported that a 26 year old man pleaded guilty to multiple charges in relation to two violent assaults on his partner.

A 16 year old girl tried to stop the second assault after he punched his partner, lifted her up out of a chair, pulled her shoulder back and bit it, let her go and as she attempted to run away, he tackled her to the ground and punched her in the back many times.

He told the teenage girl he would “kick you in the c— box”.

“Turn his attention”? Like he looked at her? Offered her a cup of tea? He was in the middle of a violent assault, the second one she witnessed, and he threatened to kick her. This is minimising male violence to an astonishing degree and that has no place in reporting on men’s violence against women.
