The Gold Coast Bulletin reported on a rape trial in which the accused rapist claimed to police that the alleged victim was chatting to people and having fun at a party.
This is what he told police in an interview that was played in court. It might be what he said, but putting it in the headline like this, without attribution, makes it sound like this is a factual proven account of what happened, rather than the claim of a man defending himself from a rape charge.
The court will determine whether he is guilty or innocent. The media should wait for that verdict before writing headlines about unsubstantiated claims made by a man being investigated for rape.
