A 14 year old girl, brutally raped by two adults, is not a “drunk teenager”. She is the victim of a horrific crime in which alcohol was used as a weapon to incapacitate her.
SMH, who frankly should (and do) know better, used this headline above a story of an adult man and his female partner who “plied her with alcohol” before raping her twice.
After being so terribly brutalised, this child, her family, her friends, and anyone who ever knew her, should not have to see her so maligned in a headline. Nor should anyone else.
