Channel 9 again. My reading of this headline is that the article is about an invisible perpetrator sexually assaulted a house.
But no, it’s a brutal sexual assault, committed by Stanley Robin Doolan who pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault, threat to inflict actual bodily harm, and using a knife to cause another male to fear physical harm.
The 54 year old woman is not a house. She is a person who suffered a traumatic and vicious attack. She does not deserved to be dehumanised again by the media after what Stanley Doolan has already done to her. She can’t and shouldn’t be identified but she should, at the very least, be given personhood when the media reports on the crimes Doolan committed against her.
