“Horrid texts” New Mail? He sent 180 text messages to his ex partner over two days. He threatened to kill her, abused her and scared her to the point that she had to go to police for protection. It’s not some Enid Blyton picnic gone wrong it’s sustained and frightening abuse by a man who has already done enough to get a domestic violence order taken out against him.
Calling it “horrid texts” is an appalling reduction of the crimes he committed and the nature of domestic violence and stalking, behaviour that is designed to render the victim powerless and afraid.
FixedIt is an ongoing project to push back against the media’s constant erasure of violent men and blaming of innocent victims. If you would like to help fund it – even $5 a month makes a big difference – please consider becoming a Patron
